The Jonas Hotels is a premier hospitality destination in Nova Scotia, known for excellence in service, comfort, and guest experience. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dedicated HR Assistant to support our Human Resources operations and ensure smooth day-to-day HR functions.
Position Summary
The HR Assistant will play a key role in supporting the Human Resources department by maintaining employee records, assisting with recruitment, coordinating training programs, and ensuring compliance with hotel policies and Canadian labor laws.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in recruitment activities, including posting job ads, scheduling interviews, and onboarding new hires

Maintain accurate employee records and update HR databases

Help coordinate staff orientation, training sessions, and performance reviews

Support payroll processing and benefits administration

Prepare HR documents such as employment contracts and policy updates

Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures

Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all legal and company requirements

Assist with organizing employee engagement activities and events
Qualifications
-
Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

Previous HR or administrative experience preferred (hotel industry experience is an asset)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality

Knowledge of Canadian labor laws is an advantage
